The Bushwackers started out as the house band at the 81club in Sunderland called the Lollygiggas in the mid 90’s. Initially they came together without any rehearsal but played with bags of feel. Over the years they have had a number of tasty players in there ranks but always held together by the partnership of Ned and George at the front.

Beautifully subtle slide and vocals with a solid tight rhythm section intertwined with pulsating harmonica. The bands set is a combination of a range of classic R&B standards played in their own unique way alongside original numbers written by the band themselves.

“The band look like they belong on a “wanted” poster and play like they have just come back from that crossroads with a whiff of brimstone.”(Darlington Blues Festival)

The bands reputation has been growing internationally over the past 2 years and they have been seen taking to the stage across the country as well as playing around the Northeast where they have picked up a significant local following.

Notable gigs have included The Dundee Blues Bonanza where performances were highlights of the weekend and also an appearance at this years Darlington Market Square R&B Festival where it was said the band “where on fire”!!!
